Dental Implants · Dawson Creek

A missing tooth,
properly replaced.

Single-tooth, multi-unit and full-arch implant care, planned with 3D CBCT imaging and delivered end-to-end in-house by Dr. Cung Nguyen and the DCDH team.

Why it matters

A gap is more than a gap.

When a tooth is lost, the teeth beside it can slowly drift, the bite can change, and the bone that once held the root begins to shrink. A dental implant replaces the root as well as the tooth, so the new tooth is anchored in the jaw much like the one it replaces.

It isn’t the only option. Bridges and dentures still have their place, and we’ll talk through all of them honestly.

The options

From one tooth to a full arch.

01

Single-tooth implant

One titanium implant and one crown, for a single missing or failing tooth. The teeth on either side are left untouched.

02

Implant bridge

Several missing teeth in a row, replaced by a bridge that rests on implants instead of on your natural teeth.

03

Full-arch implants

For a whole upper or lower arch: a fixed set of teeth, or a denture that attaches to implants rather than resting on the gums.

04

Bone grafting & sinus lifts

When there isn’t enough bone to hold an implant, it can often be rebuilt first. Your 3D scan shows us what’s needed.

The process

Five steps, one roof.

I.

Consultation & 3D scan

An exam, a look at your health history and a 3D CBCT scan, which shows the height and width of the bone and the position of nerves and sinuses. Then an honest conversation about whether implants suit you, and what the alternatives are.

II.

A plan built on the scan

Dr. Cung plans each implant’s position digitally. Where it helps, a surgical guide carries that plan into the mouth for precise placement.

III.

Placement

The implant is placed here in Dawson Creek under local anaesthetic. Nervous about it? Tell us, and we’ll talk about comfort options.

IV.

Healing

Over the next few months the bone bonds to the implant. We’ll make sure you know what fills the gap in the meantime.

V.

Your new tooth

Once healed, your crown, bridge or full arch is made and fitted. From then on it’s brushing, flossing and regular hygiene visits, just like natural teeth.

Trained for it

Big-city training, small-town care.

Dr. Cung completed both the Comprehensive and the Advanced Implant Residencies at the BITES Institute in Burnaby, holds a Fellowship in Implantology from the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and has trained in microsurgical implant techniques.

Planning, placement and the final teeth all happen in-house, so your care stays in one place, close to home.

Questions we hear

Before you book.

Does getting an implant hurt?

The implant is placed under local anaesthetic, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure. Some tenderness and swelling for a few days afterwards is common and usually settles with over-the-counter pain relief. We’ll walk you through aftercare before you go home.

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on your bone, how many teeth are being replaced and whether grafting is needed. Healing alone usually takes a few months. You’ll get a realistic timeline at your consultation.

Am I a candidate?

Most healthy adults with a missing tooth can be considered. Bone volume, gum health, smoking and conditions such as poorly controlled diabetes all affect suitability, which is exactly what the consultation and 3D scan are for.

How long do implants last?

With good home care and regular check-ups, implants can last for many years. Like natural teeth, they need daily cleaning and professional care; smoking and gum disease raise the risk of problems.

What does it cost, and is it covered?

Cost depends on how many teeth are replaced, whether grafting is needed and the type of restoration, so we go through it with you at your consultation. Insurance coverage for implants varies by plan. Ask us about direct billing and financing.
