Our Dentists

My name is Dr. Mark Sevier and I have lived in Dawson Creek for the past 28 years. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1982 with a BSc and DMD degree. I started my associateship in Manitoba but moved to Dawson Creek in 1984 to start my own general dental practice. It has grown over the years and now is a large group practice of 3 dentists and 10 support staff. I love what I do and the people I treat. It is definitely a great experience that I will continue for many years to come.

I have three children that I am very proud of. Steven, an electrician in Grande Prairie, Scott, a physiotherapist in Vancouver and Chaelan, a teacher in Edmonton. All three were raised in Dawson Creek and understand the importance of community. They were all involved in the education, sports, cultural and social aspects of this city.

Sports have always been a passion for me and it is the one thing that I do outside of my professional life. I have been involved with hockey and skiing in the past but have now moved on to cycling, swimming, tennis and badminton. I have played competitively myself, coached my children and been an enthusiastic supporter.

I have met many good friends and acquaintances along the way and look forward to continuing my professional and personal life in the city that I love.

My name is Dr. Cheryl Walker and I joined the team at Dawson Creek Dental Centre in 2006. I grew up in the Vancouver area where I attended the University of British Columbia. I graduated from UBC earning a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Physiology as well as my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. I have a passion for learning, so I decided to continue my education in Arizona and completed a dental residency program there.

After practising dentistry in Vancouver, my husband and I decided to leave the big city in search of a smaller community to call home. When opportunities presented in Dawson Creek, we made the move north. I was touched by how warmly welcomed we were by the people of this town. It is a pleasure to provide dental care for Dawson Creek and its nearby communities.

I have always enjoyed travelling and outdoor activities. These days my husband and I, together with our two young boys, have fun exploring the beautiful parks of the Peace River Region. We are impressed by the many family activities this area has to offer and look forward to raising our children in Dawson Creek.

I understand that many people can be intimidated by the dental experience, but it is my goal to alleviate these fears by providing high quality dental care in a gentle, caring manner.

My name is Dr. Cung Nguyen and I am one of three dentists at the centre. I was born in Vietnam and came to Canada when I was 9 years old. My family and I lived in St. Thomas, Ontario; a small town of 30,000 people in southern Ontario. Growing up in a small town, I enjoy the simple way of life and appreciate the values of coming together as a community and the friendly atmosphere it offers. After high school I attended the University of Western Ontario and recieved my Bachelor of Honors Science in Kinesiology. I then moved to Vancouver where I received my doctor of dental medicine at the University of British Columbia.

I have been working in beautiful Dawson creek since 2010. Since moving here I have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful friends and patients both in and out of work. I play badminton Mondays and Wednesdays at the Central gym and volleyball on Fridays. During the summer, I love to spend my time playing tennis at Kin Park and fishing at Swan Lake and surrounding areas.

Everyone I have met has made made my stay memorable. For this, I now call Dawson Creek my home. My fiance and I are looking forward to many more years in Dawson Creek as we begin to build our future.

I am looking foward to meeting you.

My name is Dr. Murray Fain and I have been coming to Dawson Creek since December of 1997 to provide Oral and Maxillofacial surgery services such as extractions and wisdom teeth removal, implant surgery, bone grafting and recontouring, jaw surgery, and management of oral pathology.

I am Canadian (Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada) and American Board Certified specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. I graduated from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Dentistry in 1983, and from residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in 1990.

I reside, and have my own private practice in White Rock, BC. I am married with 2 daughters (and a dog). I enjoy outdoors, particularly with my bow and arrow. Also I enjoy skiing, golf, tennis, and travelling.
